Getting started

RepCanvas - a hypertrophy training app for serious lifters

RepCanvas is a hypertrophy training app for lifters who program their own training. Log every set, track personal records, and watch strength trend by muscle group.

RepCanvas is a hypertrophy training app for lifters who program their own training. It is the studio you use to compose a program, log every set against it, and watch strength change over the weeks and months that matter. The app does not coach you. It records what actually happened, surfaces the patterns, and keeps you honest against the plan you set.

Built for hypertrophy training

The app is opinionated about hypertrophy. Sets, reps, RIR, tempo, rest, deload weeks, and progressive overload are first-class concepts in the data model, not bolted-on tags. Strength trends are computed per exercise and per muscle group from your top set each session, so the numbers you read map directly to the work you did.

If you train against a written program - your own, a methodology you adopted, or one of the program templates included with the app - RepCanvas will fit. If you train without structure, this is not the right tool.

Who the app is for

RepCanvas assumes you understand what a microcycle is and why a deload exists. It assumes you would rather see specific numbers than encouragement. It is the right fit if you:

  • Train against a written hypertrophy or strength program every week
  • Care about progressive overload across weight, reps, and total volume
  • Want a workout history that includes per-set personal records
  • Prefer a tool that respects your time and skips the motivational copy

If you are new to structured lifting, the app will still work. Most of its value, though, lands once you have a program to train against and history worth comparing.

What is included

The early-access build is free and includes:

  • A library of 32 vetted hypertrophy program templates covering push pull legs, upper lower, full body, HST, and specialisation blocks
  • A custom workout program builder with full microcycle and mesocycle control
  • A per-set workout logger that saves automatically as you train
  • Automatic personal-best detection across weight, reps, and session tonnage
  • Strength trends per muscle group, calendar and list workout history, and a searchable exercise library
  • Native dark mode and an installable progressive web app for iOS and Android

There is no coaching marketplace, no social feed, and no AI program generation. The product is the studio, not a community.

Where to go next

Three short pages will get you from a fresh account to a finished session.

  1. Read the program catalogue to pick a template, or jump straight to building a custom program.
  2. Skim how logging works so the autosave behaviour is not a surprise on day one.
  3. Configure your weight units and progression preferences in profile and settings.

Once you are training, the strength trends page covers how the app reads progress from your logged sessions. The glossary defines every term the app uses, in the meaning the app applies to it.
